Assistant Production Manager

About the role

 BURN is looking for a shift assistant production manager, who will be responsible for overseeing the shift operations, he/she will be responsible for shift deliverables, and training of production operators in the factory. The successful candidate will work closely with the production manager and planning department to raise work orders.

Duties and responsibilities.

  • Oversee the Shift Operations.
  • Overall responsibility for reporting on shift deliverables and training of production operators in the factory.
  • Ensure that stoves are produced in a timely manner and are produced within quality guidelines.
  • Support the Production Manager in ensuring that planned quantity of stoves is produced each Shift.
  • Raise issues, problems, and breakdowns with the Engineering team as soon as possible and support in timely resolution.
  • Work closely with the Production Manager and planning department to raise Work Orders.
  • Work closely with other departments to help in quick resolution of matters affecting production.
  • Supervise and motivate factory workers.
  • Ensure that all factory operators record of daily reporting, trainings and capabilities are up to date.
  • Work with HR in dealing with factory workers requests for leave an any other HR related issues
  • A large part of an assistant production manager’s job is dealing with people. It is important to treat people with respect and treat others how you would like to be treated yourself.
  • Work with department heads to uphold and implement Burn policies and goals.
  • Ensure all the safety protocols are adhered to on the factory floor.

  • Responsible for identifying and writing grants that are well aligned with BURN’s mission, vision and capacity.
  • Responsible for building and managing their team.
  • Ensure that all projects are sufficiently and appropriately resourced and that our recommended project management and analysis approaches are being adhered to.
  • To monitor on a day-to-day basis, resources for live projects, supplementing/modifying teams as required, and generally acting in the role of troubleshooter to ensure smooth progress of all projects.
  • To take an overview of the management of all live projects, ensuring that relevant meetings take place – initiation, mid-project update, product handling, field, data processing, and data analysis briefings, debrief planning and postmortems. This will involve direct liaison with each department and key personnel across the relevant departments.
  • To scrutinize proposed timings for projects and discuss them with the key departments to ensure that projects’ needs are met.
  • To keep abreast of outstanding proposals to foresee and plan workload levels.
  • Manage the new product development pipeline, including conceiving of new products and improvements of existing products, from discovery of new concepts until handed over to the production team.
  • Coordinate and deliver key information into the product development process and manage the boundary conditions according to the agreed strategies. This includes manufacturing requirements, financial analysis, customer needs and product parameters.
  • Manage and lead the detailed design of new and existing products, including process development, equipment selection, design for manufacturability, prototyping, lab and durability testing, material selection, etc.

You will be responsible for conducting customer surveys’, data entry and analysis using Excel, maintaining customer database, identifying areas of improvement, and finding solutions.

Attend to Customer Service Cases using an SMS-based platform and/or customer care phone line:

· Help customers register product.

· Conduct customer surveys via phone or SMS.

·  Help customers with warranty returns and repairs- sending repair information and directions, liaising with service stations to ensure proper repair.

·Answer customer queries and directing them to proper channels.

·Follow-up with customers to ensure product satisfaction and address any confusion with use.

·Attend to customer messages & calls and respond accordingly.

Maintain Customer Database & SMS platform.

 ·Data entry and organization/cleaning.

·Conduct basic analysis using Ms. Excel on customer care statistics and create simple reports.

· Translate messaging and responses.

·Set-up and modify automated messaging of SMS platform.
