Monitoring and Evaluation Intern

JOB PURPOSE

To influence quality and fidelity of programming by building the capacity of young professionals following on intentional capacity building and coaching sessions, integrated with their journey in Christianity. More so, the role will provide support to Monitoring and Evaluation unit to coordinate Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluations processes for evidence-based programming, accountability and learning while maintaining comprehensive M&E systems for the East Africa region.

The role shall be integral in ensuring collation of quality impact data, visualization and sharing on the regional impact platforms including WV central, and supporting the Field Offices towards quality and agile needs-based programming, in reference to well documented and intelligent information from across the region. This role shall enhance innovation managing online data collection and management tools including Kobo Collect, ODK, etc. targeted to influence quality and timely impact data.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide technical support in planning, monitoring and database management

  • Support review of sampled standardized monitoring forms from National offices
  • Support in the creation and collation of appropriate Annual outcome and reach data from Field Offices
  • Support analysis, aggregation and synthesis of impact, monitoring and evaluation data across the Field Offices and reporting
  • Support in the review of sustainability and Transition plans where appropriate
  • Support in the review of assessment, baseline and evaluation design documents and related reports
  • Support FOs in collaboration with IT on the utilization of online data collection and management tools including Kobo Collect, ODK etc.

  • Support in the management of monitoring and evaluation systems (Horizon, new Amp Impact, and other online systems that will generate timely information and feedback to all stakeholders).

Research, Development and Learning Intern

JOB PURPOSE

The role, located in the East Africa regional office, intends to influence development and use of needs-based research and information for knowledge building, generation and sharing by building the capacity of young professionals following on intentional capacity building and coaching sessions, integrated with their journey in Christianity. More so, the role shall work closely with the Strategy and Programme Quality department, with the support and coaching of the Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor, and in collaboration with other unit teams and leaders to support in the implementation and tracking of the partnership/regional office learning agenda. The role shall support, in collaboration with other units, in re-designing and updating the World Vision International intranet (wvcentral) with up-to-date communications, impact and strategic information; tracking the implementation of Box project for timely document updates that would ensure ease of access and collaboration within (and across) teams.

The role will work closely with the regional M&E Advisor in ensuring implementation of quality research and generation of timely analysis on context (desired topics) enabling learning and agility in programming. Such information will be used in the development of proposals and for pitching by the Regional Leader and the Senior Leadership Team.  

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Support documentation and learning

  • Supporting mapping of NO and regional researches in line with Research Agenda and Plans
  • Supporting the development of summary research findings with the related offices and/or units
  • Reviewing research and learning reports for quality and compliance to set standards
  • Conducting research on various topics and subjects as assigned including in providing data on indicators of interest
  • Documenting research recommendations and track their implementation enabling agility in programming

Grants Program Support Intern

JOB PURPOSE

The Regional Resource Development Graduate Intern will provide administrative, Grant Acquisition Analysis and documentation. The role is aligned with the East Africa Region and Partnership Strategy, Our Promise 2030, Going Further Than We Imagined. The role will support the achievement of Grant Acquisition strategy 2025.

In this role, the intern will gain valuable hands-on experience in administrative tasks, grant acquisition analysis, and documentation. This practical experience will not only enhance his/her skills but also provide a deep understanding of the processes and intricacies involved in resource development within the East Africa Region. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor and Report Field Office Progress

  • Schedule, send the agenda and take meeting notes for dissemination and filing in Box for Grant acquisition an ad Management GAMHUB quarterly calls, one- on-one FO meeting with RRDD and the RDU bi-weekly catch-up calls
  • Update the EAR, FO and external partners contact list
  • File and organize the EAR GAM documents in Box

Research and Analysis (Influence)

  • Coordinate information collection for capacity statement development
  • Update the Grant Opportunity Acquisition Tracking (GOAT) report for further review with the RRDD

Supply Chain Intern

Job Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Regional Supply Chain Specialist, the Supply Chain Intern is responsible for supporting the Regional Supply Chain Specialist in the delivery of critical supply chain functions within the EARO (East Africa Regional Office).

This position plays a pivotal role in contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the supply chain, ensuring the successful execution of various functions and tasks under the guidance of the Regional Supply Chain Specialist. The Supply Chain Intern is integral to our commitment to providing effective and streamlined supply chain management within our organization.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adherence to Procurement Policies: Understanding, implementing, and maintaining World Vision’s procurement policies and procedures to ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Utilization of Provision System: Proficiently navigate and utilize the Provision online procurement system for various procurement activities, including requisition processing and tracking
  • Buyer Actions: Undertake buyer actions by obtaining quotations from suppliers in response to purchase requisitions generated through the Provision system.

Humanitarian Emergency Affairs Intern

JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of this role is to provide an opportunity to a young graduate to gain hands-on work experience with the Regional Humanitarian Emergency Affairs (HEA) team. The young graduate will work with the HEA Staff keeping tabs of critical support requirements in emergency preparedness planning, response management, and knowledge management.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Information Management and Data Administration

  • Contribute to the definition of information requirements and the development of data flows, data quality assurance & quality control, and   information management standard operating procedures and guidelines
  • Support with the design, development and testing of data collection forms using Esri’s ArcGIS technology (i.e. Surveys) or other platforms (i.e. ODK, Kobo etc).
  • Consolidate humanitarian response data from 9 field offices, and coordinate the development of information products such as situation reports, maps, funding appeals, sector infographics, GIS, data visualisation, maps, official statistics and other data and information management activities.
  • Support the documentation of all HEA products including best practices, approaches, Real Time Learning etc
  • Manage HEA Box and TEAMs platforms to ensure ease of access of documents.
  • Maintain an updated humanitarian response register and action points running sheet. Improve data quality in the region/countries through field support, monitoring and feedback.
  • Work closely with humanitarian advisors and Anticipatory Action Coordinator to ensure the data is fit for the purpose.
  • Develop information management products such as web/desktop maps, dashboards templates, and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Esri’s ArcGIS technology and Tableau.
  • Support the gathering and analysis of primary and secondary data for interpretation and evidence-informed decision making and package these for use

Administrative Support

  • Support in preparation of key events organized by HEA e.g trainings etc

  • Actively participate and support resource mobilisation efforts for humanitarian and disaster risk reduction interventions.

  • Support and coordinate with the Regional Office and FOs in development of regional blogs and opinion pieces that can be published externally (View, wvi.org) internally (Ignite).

External Engagements:

  • Develop and review WVK gender, Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion national approaches/plans regularly to ensure compliance with the World Vision Partnership, donor, national and international standards.
