About the Department
Deloitte East Africa has a robust Internal Client Services unit positioned to deliver outstanding value and services needed to achieve Deloitte’s vision. It enables client facing staff to work efficiently and effectively.
The Finance department provides finance and accounting services to the Firm and its leadership to support the business’ decision-making process. The Finance department is involved in the preparation of forecasts and financial plans and works with the various departments to ensure client receivables are managed effectively and that our cash and billings targets are met.
We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our Internal Client Services Department – Finance team as a Treasury & Reporting Accountant. This position will be based in our Nairobi office in Kenya.
Job Description
Main purpose of the job
The incumbent will manage key processes within the Treasury and Reporting function including cash management, payments, preparation of cash flow forecasts, ensuring robust controls around bank accounts, prepare commentaries for monthly business performance and strive for continuous improvement within treasury and reporting processes.
What you will do
- Accurate and timely preparation of short and medium term cash flow forecasts including daily analysis of bank balances and preparation of the weekly and ad hoc cash position reports;
- Compliance reporting for treasury in accordance with statutory, regulatory and Africa regional reporting requirements;
- Aid in business development by ensuring timely processing of bids, performance, security bonds and guarantees;
- Closely manage exposure to mitigate financial risks related to the interest rates on the company’s borrowings, as well as on its foreign exchange position;
- Continually and consistently work on improving and maintaining the control environment around cash movement ensuring that the firm’s payments process and procedures adhere to internal control procedures;
- Maintain strong relationships with the company’s bankers and ensure that banking forms to support various transactions are completed accurately and in a timely manner;
- Prepare and analyze the monthly management accounts and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting standards;
- Prepare reports, commentaries and provide insights to local and Africa regional management teams on business performance; advise on the causes of variances against budget and prior year; and
- Champion the use of business performance reporting dashboards across the business and aide users to interpret the financial data and KPIs for decision making purposes.
Qualifications
- A Bachelors Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
- At least 4 years’ experience, preferably in the audit firms or related industry.
- Experience in treasury accounting.
- A professional qualification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA).
- Good analytical and organization skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Be a Kenyan citizen or eligible to work in Kenya.

Main purpose of the job
Deloitte East Africa currently has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic person to join our Tax & Legal team as a Global Employer Services (GES) Manager. The holder of this position will be responsible for ensuring that all assignments are carried out to the highest standards in order to provide outstanding value to clients and the Firm.
What you will do
- Manage the allocated client portfolio;
- Ensure preparation of proposals and engagement letters, ensuring client take on procedures are completed timely;
- Manage the team to ensure client deliverables and deadlines are met;
- Manage working capital and debtors for own client portfolio;
- Effectively manage all routine compliance and advisory engagements in a timely manner;
- Responsible for business development activities aimed at growing the GES portfolio and revenues;
- Manage and execute all global compliance assignments;
- Oversee the annual Individual tax compliance for clients and ensure that the process is managed well and deadlines are met; liaise with clients to provide the necessary documentation, preparation of the individual tax computations and tax returns as well as filing of the tax returns within set deadlines;
- Manage client communications;
- Train and coach (classroom and on-job) other staff in the department; and
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
- A Bachelors degree in Business/Commerce or related field.
- At least 6 years’ professional tax experience.
- At least 3 years’ experience post-qualification with an international auditing/accountancy Firm.
- In depth knowledge/understanding of the Kenyan tax laws.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good organization and planning skills.
