Switchboard Operator

The Role

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handling incoming, outgoing and interoffice calls.
  • Taking and relaying messages to the relevant parties.
  • Providing telephone assistance to clients.
  • Updating company’s internal telephone directory.
  • Ensuring all company’s lines are working.
  • Organizing mail dispatch by courier services.
  • Receiving and distributing internal mails.
  • Warmly welcoming visitors at the reception while covering the front office for the Receptionist.
  • Attending to walk-in clients by providing them with the necessary information while covering the front office for the Receptionist.
  • Performing general administrative duties and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Diploma in (Business Management/Administration, Social Sciences or Secretarial Studies) a Degree will be an added advantage.
  • Considerable knowledge of Insurance Products.
  • 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

Actuarial Services Manager

The Actuarial Services Manager will provide leadership to the actuarial team and provide other technical and actuarial services.

The position has the following key responsibilities:

  • Quarterly and annual statutory valuations in accordance with the Insurance Act;
  • Regular actuarial review of insurance products, pricing and profitability;
  • Review of insurer assets and liabilities and actuarial reserves;
  • Actuarial advice input on strategic planning;
  • Leadership and management of the actuarial unit.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications and experience:

Qualified candidates are required to have the following qualifications and experience:

  • B.Sc degree in Actuarial Science;
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have a Master’s degree in either Actuarial Science or Business Administration;
  • Membership to the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or any other body;
  • Be an Associate member of the Actuarial Society of Kenya;
  • Have at least 8 years’ experience in the insurance industry;
  • Experience in product development including design, profitability, testing and capital requirements;
  • Experience in actuarial reserving for Life and Pensions
  • Actuarial valuations for internal and external requirements;
  • Project management and report writing.

Supervisor – Pensions Administration

The Role

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Management of the allocated Schemes
  • Ensuring scheme compliance is done as per the RBA Act
  • Assist in business acquisition as per the allocated budgets
  • Assist in preparation of all the scheme documents
  • Ensuring that schemes hold AGMs, Trustee and Client meetings
  • Ensure that team members follow up with trustees and sponsors on remittance of monthly contributions, scheme audits etc
  • Support the Manager – Pension Administration in day today departmental administrative duties
  • To participate in 90% business retention on administered schemes;
  • Keeping abreast of changes in the industry;
  • Guiding and training staff on operational processes;

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Statistics/Mathematics
  • Post Graduate Diploma (DipCII/ACII, AIIK)
  • Minimum of 5 Years work experience in Pensions Administration
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Technical competence in insurance and pension administration
  • Proficient in MS Excel with excellent analytical skills
