Senior Sales Officer

Job objective

As the Senior Sales Officer, you will oversee day-to-day / Weekly operations of the Local sales team to ensure that operations are well run & that we have a dynamic Veg Local Sales Business. Improve standards and process management for sales and customer support activities to optimize sales reporting and quote to order practices. Develop operational standards and metrics to establish best in class customer support operations and ensure effectiveness of the customer management process. Drive Expo planning and brand image of the product with the clients.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  •  Ensure that Clients are well managed, and action points are raised and implemented within the timeframe to ensure Client satisfaction.
  •  Ensure that the local sales team prepares planning for Orders to Packhouse, Delivery & Service level management.
  •  Visit the clients and ensure Planograms for product placement are in place to maximize sales.
  •  Assist with Client pricing formulations, communication, and changes.
  •  Ensure that each local sales team officer has a Key agenda for the Top 10 Clients and that on a monthly or quarterly basis we are achieving the sales targets set out.
  •  Coordinate NPD for New Clients
  •  Assist with Promotion planning and execution at client/ store levels.
  •  Assist with Planning for promotional materials and new Product Updates.
  •  Assist in planning for big promotions and coordinate with the field teams numbers of what is needed well in advance so that we can deliver.
  •  Ensure for new clients that on boarding forms are filled in, that orders are electronically placed via the portal or able to be electronically uploaded to the Veg manager.
  •  Conduct competitor reviews to analyze market trends and competition with a view to strategic positioning of prices and product placement.
  •  Expand upon existing developments from technical trials with a view to commercializing them into sales.
  •  Review trials being undertaken for developments, opportunities, and sales follow-up.
  •  Conduct follow-up and liaison for the company’s products and initiatives.  
  • Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
  •  Develop new business with existing clients and/or identify areas of improvement to exceed sales quotas.
  •  Drive and train the Veg Local Sales team.
  •  Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. Quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
  •  Manage reporting for account status for weekly sales meeting.

Your profile

  • Degree/Diploma in marketing/sales/Administration
  • 5- 10 years’ experience in a similar post and knowledge of fresh produce would be beneficial.
  • Experience in carrying out our market research and developing analysis, papers, surveys, and reports.
  • Strong people management skills, with proven ability to manage a team to achieve their highest potential.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and sales skills. Must be an excellent telephone and face-toface communicator. Confident and enthusiastic communicator essential.
  • Able to demonstrate success and experience of managing accounts, achieving genuine sales development.
  • A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance.
  • Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with company executives at all levels.
  • Keen for new experience, responsibility, and accountability.
  • Able to get on with others and be a team-player. Motivates self and others to achieve team objectives.
  • Must be skilled in using MS office, Outlook, Excel, Word, Internet, and email.

EPZ Manager – Simba Farm

Job objective

As the The EPZ Manager you will be fully responsible for the entire EPZ Area (covering the Veg and Roses Packhouses) and to ensure that Industry and Company standards are adhered to, with any corrective action implemented. This includes overseeing site logistical operations, including equipment, machinery, and fabric maintenance.

The EPZ Manager will also oversee the expansion of new facilities and project management

Your tasks and responsibilities

  •  Ensure facilities are clean and well run while ensuring high hygiene standards are maintained.
  •  Ensure that the packhouse comply with all the applicable local and international standards.
  •  Liaise with farm managers to ensure that crop harvesting and deliveries to the pack house are efficient and timely.
  •  Monitor raw material utilization; ensure that waste/rejects are within acceptable limits and all dumps are authorized.
  •  Effectively communicate with the sales team on stock levels, labour numbers, pack plan, and outload volume and packhouses packing capacity
  •  Co-ordinate all preparations for audits and customer visits along with the Technical Teams
  •  Facilitate daily logistics for Shipments to Airport and check shipments of both veg and roses to ensure no discrepancies arise.
  •  Develop work plans and budgets.
  •  Ensure that the packhouse management systems (Veg and Roses Manager) are used appropriately and that the reports generated from them are a true reflection of the packhouse operations.
  •  Arrange for prompt repair and maintenance of Packhouse equipment and external machinery – Cold rooms, Water system and Solar system.
  •  Monitor the efficiency of the cold rooms to ensure that the specified temperatures for the various products are maintained while ensuring to maintain the physical condition of the facility.
  •  Liaise with Head Office for the procurement of all materials required for maintenance.
  •  Manage and oversee Packhouse teams including management of casual staff and permanent employee numbers – Casual labour recruitment, Leave, Salaries, Overtime.
  •  Maintain staff discipline and welfare in accordance with company policy.
  •  Oversee performance management, workforce planning and recruitment within the EPZ.
  •  Organise and follow-up on weekly meetings to discuss various issues at EPZ including Labour, Security etc.
  •  Ensuring a timely communication on each ripening process. Follow agreed format on communication.
  •  Ensure raw material with correct quality attributes for ripening is used i.e., correct dry matter content, correct size profile etc. in liaison with the QA manager.
  •  Ensure stocks for ripening consumables e.g., ethylene is adequate. Observe a re-order level for the consumables.
  •  Liaise with maintenance manager to ensure scheduled maintenance plan for the ripening chambers is followed.
  •  Maintain and updated ripening unit Planned Preventative maintenance data.
  •  In charge of the overall security of the EPZ area while enduring adherence to EPZ/Customs access control required for all EPZ facilities.
  •  Coordinate all the transportation requirements of the EPZ section, including logistical operations, release of trucks on schedule.

Your profile

  •  Degree in Horticulture/ Agriculture or a related field.
  •  Over 10 years of direct hands-on experience in a busy Packhouse/Site/Plant environment and fully conversant with factory operations in the food processing industry
  •  A specialist in process engineering and process management with experience in organization,
  • production, and supply chain management
  •  Self-motivated, strategic thinker with excellent crisis management skills and able to bring solutions to the table.
  •  Ardent advocate of systems and procedures, good manufacturing standards and other social welfare standards
  •  Fully proficient in Kaizen, Lean management, and processing techniques
  •  Strong administration, site management and people management skills with proven delivery on targets within a strict timeframe
  •  Ideally well versed in factory building and project management

Job objective

As the Senior Mechanic, you will be in responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of vehicles.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Handling transport and workshop department repairs as instructed by the transport / workshop manager.

  •  Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical systems.
  •  Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostic tools and equipment.
  •  Experience with computerized diagnostic systems and software.
  •  Familiarity with welding and fabrication techniques may be required.
  •  Ability to interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
  •  Certifications will be an added advantage, especially in areas such as engine repair, brakes, electrical/electronic systems, and suspension/steering.
