Specification

  • Completion of AF G1084B/JAMES (Job Card) during/after repair. All work to be carried out in accordance with (iaw) procedures and standards as stated in Army Equipment Support Publications (AESP’s) and or manufacturers repair manuals.
  • Locate and demand spares using appropriate AESP and manufacturer repair manuals. Working as part of a repair team and as an individual. Comply with Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Comply with engineering hygiene standards ensuring that all tools on charge are serviceable and accounted for. Drive and operate equipment’s whilst under inspection. Comply with Engineering Management System (EMS).
  • Carry out monthly toolbox checks iaw Defence Logistic Framework (DLF).
  • Clean work areas.
  • Carry out manual handling tasks.
  • Carry out Audits when required as directed by the CoC.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties commensurate with grade as directed by the line manager. Carry out any other duties commensurate with the trade/grade as directed by the MLM.

Requirements

  1. Must hold a full valid Kenyan driving licence and be capable of passing the BATUK Matrix Test and be prepared to drive military vehicles.
  2. Knowledge in ICDL. Kenyan Trade Test Class 1 certificate in trade discipline (equivalent to C&G grade
  3. Computer Qualified/Experienced on Microsoft Word and Excel.
  4. An excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.
  5. The individual in this job must be honest and have integrity.
  6. They must possess excellent communication skills, be punctual, and be willing to work as part of a multi-ethnic team.

Overseeing the daily running and management of the Karibu Cafe and its staff on Nyati Camp

Main duties:

  1. Ensure cash, stock, debt and assets are properly controlled.
  2. Engage with customers providing retail services.
  3. Manage the staff on a daily basis on behalf of the employer.
  4. Manage staff absence for leave and illness.
  5. Manage staff rosta to ensure all outlets are staffed appropriately.
  6. Collate and submit staff time sheets.
  7. Support the employer resolving issues with staff or customers.
  8. Maintain appropriate stock levels including ordering stock at best value for money.
  9. Conducting stock checks as directed by the employer.
  10. Ensure all cash is paid to relevant accounts on time.
  11. Prepare and sell hot drinks and snacks.
  12. Sell all provided stock items as directed.
  13. Report any damages or losses to the manager,
  14. Ensure the retail environment is kept clean and tidy.
  15. Ensure all COSHH material is used and stored correctly.
  16. Ensure all COSHH material is replenished as required.
  17. Report all health and safety concerns.
  18. Report all damages to buildings and equipment.

Secondary duties:

  1. Undertake any training as directed by your employer.
  2. Support the manager to improve and expand the retail services.
  3. Ensure the security of the retail environment after use.
  4. Maintain all records as required by the employer

Competences/qualifications/experience:

Essential:

  1. Possess a good level of secondary education
  2. Good understanding of English oral
  3. Must be able to work unsupervised and achieve high results within tight time lines
  4. Must be punctual
  5. Highly motivated and takes pride in what they are employed to do

Cafe Staff

Selling, stock taking and general cleanliness of the Karibu Café.
