Sr Accountant

YOUR WORK-LIFE OPPORTUNITY:

  • Glovo’s team is looking for a sr. Accountant in the Finance Department who will set-up and lead in-house accounting. We are looking for an experienced accountant, to undertake all accounting activity for different companies and partner with the business to ensure that the requirements are being met whilst at the same time ensuring that Glovo meets all its internal and external reporting and control requirements.

BE A PART OF A TEAM WHERE YOU WILL:

  • Report to HQ on the financial & management reports
  • Coordinate the Financial closing with external accounting advisor and be the main point of contact for tax and finance issues.
  • Identify financial status by comparing and analysing actual results with plans and forecasts
  • Improve financial status by analysing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management
  • Review and improve the invoicing process for customers for clients Partners and Customers
  • Manage treasury with a follow-up on Accounts payable and Accounts receivable
  • Recommend actions by analysing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials
  • Business Units Financial Analysis
  • Own and Report Financial Findings of specific Business Unit

YOU HAVE:

  • Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in positions related to: Corporate Finance, Financial, Planning and Strategy
  • Being proficient in Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Be a graduate student in Economics (preferably a Public Accountant or Business Administration)
  • Experience in similar sectors or technology companies will be valued
  • Advanced English
  • Analytical profile, data-driven, goal-oriented, and teamwork

Strategy & Finance Manager

BE A PART OF A TEAM WHERE YOU WILL:

  • Be the General Manager’s right-hand in any strategic and finance decision
  • Define jointly with the General Manager the long term goals of the country
  • Set and review quarterly country and department targets based on long term goals
  • Implement current corporate strategy throughout the annual planning cycle both at country and city level
  • Work with cross-functional teams (operations, marketing, finance, procurement and commercial) to ensure a profitable and flawless execution, and to develop profitability analysis for new ideas/businesses
  • Study the viability – reports of investments/projects, strategic reorientation, etc
  • Lead cross functional projects to improve profitability
  • Analyze business performance and measure KPIs, identifying issues and potential improvement opportunities
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual finance and accounting reports and analysis (P&L and BS).
  • Work closely with Global Finance Teams (Billing, Treasury, Accounting etc) to solve any day-to-day issues and ensure a 100% satisfaction of Kenya’s customers, partners and couriers in any topic related to finance
  • Manage treasury function and ensure optimal cash flow
  • Coordinate the preparation of Financial Statements
  • Lead the relationship with third parties: external auditors, administrations, external consultants,
  • Analyze of procedures and external audit – Contributing to the continuous improvement of the processes promoting solutions to possible problems detected and reduce manual tasks
  • Optimize the fiscal policy of the company: VAT tax knowledge, IIBB Multilateral Agreement
  • Have a full team of 3+ HC reporting into you
  • Report into the General Manager with a dotted line to the Africa Head of Finance & Strategy.
  • Actively collaborate with your colleagues and learn from each other in a supportive environment that allows you to grow, develop and make a difference

YOU HAVE: 

  • 6-10+ years of work experience in consulting, investment banking, corporate finance within a leading company providing teams with the necessary data to make the right decisions & leading major projects 
  • Strong working knowledge in manipulating and presenting quantitative data (Excel, Google Spreadsheets etc.), ability to build flexible and comprehensive reporting templates
  • Advanced English
  • Strong analytical skills, goal-oriented, and teamwork
  • Hands-on and autonomous
  • Advanced accounting and finance knowledge
  • Ability to influence stakeholders in order to help achieve your goals
  • An empathetic, inclusive and curious attitude

Brand Marketing Services Lead – Kenya (They/He/She)

YOUR WORK-LIFE OPPORTUNITY:

As Head of Brand Marketing Services, you will be part of the Brand Marketing team, which provides a suite of services designed to help Glovo’s most strategic CPG brands. Your priority will be to work backwards from the customer, identifying inputs to grow all brands and improve their performance. You will do this while facilitating great business relationships and ensuring brands’ satisfaction with the service. You will also be responsible for a team of Brand Marketing Associates. 

BE A PART OF A TEAM WHERE YOU WILL:

  • Build up and grow partnerships with key strategic partners within banking, financial institutions, telcos, FMCG and retail industries.
  • Work together with your team to ensure their growth and development. 
  • Lead the research, identification, prioritisation and execution of new partnership opportunities to help us achieve increased brand awareness, new customers and as well as revenue
  • Partner internally with key functions (Groceries, Food, BI, CRM…) to contribute to the definition of priorities and operational goals according to the brands’ needs.
  • Define joint business plans and assist in delivering impact for the brands you support.

  • You have:
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in management, business administration, engineering, marketing
  • 6+ years of professional experience in the field
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Planning, prioritization and time-management skills
  • Ability to sale at scale and communicate efficiently both internally and externally
  • Excellent written and spoken Kazakh and English
  • Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly
  • Tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Familiarity with the marketing mix is required – i.e how and when to leverage different marketing channels for strategic partnerships.
  • Excellent knowledge of the market, CPG Brands and their products and deep understanding of consumer insights.
