Catering Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify the objectives for the catering services in the hospital.
  • Specify the responsibilities within the structure of the catering department.
  • Ensure catering services produce and provide food that is of good quality, nutritious and well presented.
  • Prepare the specifications for the purchasing of all goods required.
  • Planning menus in consultation with chefs.
  • Hiring, training, supervising and motivating permanent and temporary staff.
  • Supervise, direct and control staff in the performance of their duties.
  • Ensure Hospitals policies regarding recruitment of staff and employment conditions are fairly applied within the catering department.
  • Ensure the accuracy of information used to generate staff remuneration.
  • Ensure duty rosters and rotas are maintained to meet service needs.
  • Ensuring that health and safety regulations are strictly observed, recorded and archived
  • Maintain and upgrade strict hygiene and sanitation practices and levels.
  • Update and compiles new products and menus according to market availability and customer needs.
  • Keeping to budgets and maintaining financial and administrative records.
  • Device management information reports regarding cost and quality.
  • Monitor procedures for audit and feedback of services.
  • Develop methods to assess staff time and other resources required to meet hospital standards

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Hospitality Management or Related Course.
  • Over 3 year’s managerial experience in similar capacity.
  • Good business and commercial acumen.
  • Financial, budgeting and stock-taking skills
  • Knowledge of food hygiene.

Postgraduate Surgical Training in General Surgery

The post graduate surgical training is a five year training program leading to the award of the Fellowship of the College of Surgeons (FCS).

Minimum program requirements to enroll include:

  • Valid Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board License
  • Minimum experience of 2 years post internship
  • Recommendation letter from 2 senior referees in the medical profession

Forensic Auditor

 Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit the successful applicants will be responsible for the following responsibilities amongst others:

  • Carry out Forensic Audit procedures to prevent, detect and investigate issues of fraud and financial abuse within the Hospital.
  • Identify, and clearly define, forensic issues and their root causes.
  • Recommend to and liaise with Internal Auditors on improved internal controls and business processes and ensure that corrective action plans are developed.
  • Promote a zero tolerance control environment where fraud or noncompliance is unacceptable and difficult to Conceal.
  • During the investigative process, provide effective recommendations and solutions to identified issue; ensure business agreement, and follow‐through.
  • Review forensic audit work papers and reports, along with providing staff and internal auditors with coaching and guidance in their efforts to investigate allegations of fraud.
  • Interface with various levels of the organization including Head of Departments to identify gaps that may be exploited.
  • Evaluate whistle-blowing reports received and provide investigative worthiness assessment for each whistle blowing report.
  • Develop and enhance fraud risk management framework and related entities by conducting ad-hoc fraud risk advisories.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Must have CPA (K)/ACCA.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner.
  • Over 5 years’ experience in forensic audit.
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Ability to accurately analyse and interpret financial data.
  • High level of Integrity.

Internal Auditor

Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit

successful applicant will be responsible for the following responsibilities amongst others:

  • Collating, checking and analysing audit data.
  • Examine hospital accounts and financial control systems.
  • Conduct risk assessment of assigned departments or functional areas in the established/required timeline.
  • Implement risk-based audit programs.
  • Determine scope of review in conjunction with the Head of Internal Audit.
  • Review the suitability of existing internal control designs.
  • Conduct audit testing of specified areas and identify reportable issues and dimensions of risk.
  • Ensure that all of the Hospital’s physical assets are safeguarded.
  • Determine Organisation-wide compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Communicate findings to departmental heads and draft comprehensive and complete reports of each audit area.

Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager

successful applicant will be responsible for the following responsibilities amongst others:

  • Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas within the Hospital premises.
  • Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, or mopping floors using a variety of equipment and supplies.
  • Empties trash receptacles, and replaces lining of trash cans and disposes contents properly.
  • Cleaning ceiling vents, fans, storage areas, restrooms etc as allocated by the Head of Housekeeping.
  • Sterilize patients’ rooms.
  • Wipe down windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using appropriate equipment.
  • Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities noting items for repairs.
  • Ensure that offices is locked properly at the end of the day.
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects as directed.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Certificate in Housekeeping.
  • Must have 1 year experience Housekeeping.
  • High level of Integrity.

Registration and Admissions

Reporting to the Health Records Manager

successful applicant will be responsible for the following responsibilities amongst others:

  • Greet and receive patients professionally and guide/ advise the client as per their needs.
  • Capture all patient demographics, enter the details on lifeline system after verification and assign a hospital unique identifier to the patient by observing the one patient one Hospital number policy
  • Activate credit slips/service request accordingly as per the patient’s needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patients and Hospital information.
  • Secure payments by screening insurance information; identifying patients requiring verifying approvals and adhere to the debtors account guidelines.
  • Seek preauthorization for elective procedures and make timely follow up with the respective insurance company/NHIF.
  • Schedule patients with a referral appointment to a consultant/specialized services and communicate to the client on the time and date of the clinic.
  • Capture all hospital revenue by charging/debting all services utilized by the client on the lifeline system and finalize invoices.
  • Pre-admit patients by observing the admission guidelines and timely notification of all NHIF inpatient cases.
  • Liaise with ward in charges to reconcile the bed occupancy on the lifeline system.
  • To enter all information in the request form onto the master register as required and give a reference number.
  • To prepare /package specimen to be referred/outsourced and coordinate with the courier for transportation.
  • Follow up reports of outsourced tests.
  • To dispatch analyzed reports and ensure that no results are delayed in the laboratory.
  • To answer telephone calls appropriately.
  • To receive and coordinate Blood Donors.
  • To organize transports for emergency outsource cases to other facilities.
  • To confirm the invoices for outsourced tests and forward to the manager for approval.
  • Receiving and apportioning our medical centers laboratory referral samples and following dispatch of reports.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Must Have Diploma in Health Records Management
  • 1 year experience in related field.
  • High level of Integrity and patient confidentiality.
  • Computer literacy in health systems management and office word.
