Senior Graphic Designer

Role Purpose:

  • Responsible for working with the brand team in the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, layouts, posters, logos and videos. In addition, this role specializes in website design, requiring a deep knowledge of determining the structure and design of web pages, departmental portals, and smart applications.

What you will do:

  • Illustrating concepts by designing examples of art arrangement, size, type size and style and submitting them for approval
  • Coordinate outside agencies, art services, web designers, marketing, printers, and colleagues to ensure quality and timely service
  • Prepare rough drafts of material based on agreed brief 
  • Create a wide range of graphics and layouts for product/service illustrations with software such as photoshop
  • Participate in reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements when necessary
  • Undertake research to assist plan concepts in response to client briefs
  •  Determine the structure and design of web pages/portals/smart apps in response to client briefs
  • Build reusable code for future use
  • Optimize web pages for maximum speed and scalability
  • Write quality web pages through the utilization of a variety of markup languages

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design or relevant field from a recognized university 
  • At least 4 years of experience as a senior graphic designer in a busy design environment from a credible institution
  • Training and experience in 2D and 3D design; Color and design fundamentals; Digital imaging and illustration o Graphic design history or theory: Logo and visual identity; Motion graphics: Package design: Print layouts and publication: Spatial dynamics: Typography: Webpage design: Photoshop 

Brand Project Manager

Role Purpose:

  • Responsible for planning, executing, and monitoring marketing projects and campaigns that support Watu Africa’s brand and communication goals. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing creative marketing strategies, and measuring the impact of marketing initiatives.

What you will do:

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences, and opportunities for Watu Africa’s brand and communication efforts.
  • Use data-driven insights to evaluate the success of marketing projects and campaigns. Provide regular reports on key performance indicators and adjust strategies as necessary. 
  • Manage marketing project budgets effectively, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Assist in organizing and promoting events, both online and offline, to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
  •  Plan, execute, and oversee marketing projects, campaigns, and initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

  •  Work closely with the respective stakeholders to develop marketing strategies that align with Watu’s brand objectives.
  • Collaborate with the creative and content teams to develop engaging and on-brand marketing content, including graphics, videos, and written materials.
  •  Implement digital marketing strategies, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media campaigns, to increase brand awareness and reach target audiences.
  • Maintain brand consistency and ensure all marketing materials and communications adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to gather insights, align strategies, and support cross-functional projects

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  •  At least 8 years experience in marketing, project management, or a related role.
  • Proficiency with marketing software and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media management platforms, email marketing software).
  •  Strong understanding of digital marketing channels & tools and copywriting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  •  Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  •  Knowledge of the African market and cultural sensitivities is a plus.
