Emergency Medical Technical Driver

To support the delivery of world-class, patient-centric care, we are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, visionary, and result-oriented candidate for the role of:

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for safely transferring patients to and from medical facilities while providing emergency and/or immediate care to patients in transit as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support all evacuation processes and adhere to related evacuation protocols;
  • Facilitate the loading of patients onto the ambulance gurney and in the ambulance;
  • Administer first aid such as bandaging, splinting, and administering oxygen to patients requiring care before reaching the hospital;
  • Ensure the ambulance is well stocked with first aid and medical inventory supplies such as oxygen levels, prior to the shift and between patient transit throughout the day;
  • Sanitize the ambulance and safely dispose of any waste while processing linen;
  • Timely record and maintain driving log with daily entries and noting patients’ names, addresses, and travel mileage;
  • Report facts concerning accidents/emergencies to hospital staff/law enforcement officials as required; and
  • Inspect the ambulance before each shift such as checking the fuel, oil transmission fluid, and coolant, and report all mechanical issues;
  • Ensure security and safety of hospital ambulance while on and off the road at all times.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Certificate in Advanced Emergency Medical Technician.
  • Basic Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support qualification.
  • A valid Special Driver’s (Ambulance) License.
  • At least five (5) years of driving experience.

Nurse Lecturer

Reporting to the Principal of the College, the Nurse Lecturer will be responsible for the delivery of nursing courses and will have a specific focus on the delivery of the nursing training curriculum as outlined by NCK, TVET, and TKHMTC.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Teach and examine students in the areas of subjects taught in classroom and clinical areas so as to evaluate student performance in areas taught;
  2. Prepare a scheme of work and lesson plans to be followed for the duration of the course and submit a copy to the Deputy Principal before the course begins;
  3. Support in planning and conduct of Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs);
  4. Maintain and develop areas of expertise including participation in clinical activity under the general guidance of the academic officer and clinical coordinator;
  5. Ensure the major Nursing Council /TVET-CDACC assessments for students within the clinical placements are done and the records well kept;
  6. Evaluate students during their attachment program;
  7. In collaboration with the Principal, develop and review curriculum for nurse training programs; and
  8. Support in the selection, admission, and orientation of new students to the school.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS 

  1. Higher Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  2. Minimum of 3 years experience of classroom and clinical teaching experience at an institution of higher learning.
  3. CBET certification.

DESIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES 

  1. Ability to teach using a variety of methods to effectively engage students in learning.
  2. Advanced computer skills and understanding of its use in a college setting.
  3. Able to counsel and mentor students and staff.
  4. Able to lead a large group of students.
  5. Able to manage a complex workload using prioritization skills.
