MANAGER RISK ANALYTICS

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely, relevant and robust analyses for credit risk management by designing and applying appropriate analytical approaches 
  • Design, develop and implement Risk MIS and Data Infrastructure to support the identification, analysis and measurement of credit risk within the organization.
  • Play a lead role in the design, development, implementation and monitoring of the bank’s credit risk models
  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions through the use of Advanced Analytics for the management of credit risk
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure adequate understanding of risk models and their application. Provide support to business units on the development and implementation of business rules and strategies
  • Identify opportunities to apply quantitative methods to improve business performance and recommend establishment of new or modified reporting methods and procedures
  • Develop processes and pipelines to generate risk related data from disparate sources e.g. Data Warehouse, Data Marts, Transactional Systems
  • Organize and analyze data towards developing informative management reports and visualizations
  • Train and support internal customers in their day to day use of risk systems

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years in Credit Risk management
  • Proficient in working with relational databases and SQL
  • Knowledge of relevant programming languages (R, Python)
  • Excellent/Proven reporting and visualization skills including dashboards. 
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau is an added advantage

Head of Credit Support Unit

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control Pre-90 days Retail Credit Portfolio throughout the regions to ensure that asset quality is maintained and improved (PAR & Migration) to within acceptable standards.
  • Overall management of non-performing debts to prevent deterioration and improve the bank’s lending asset quality.
  • Control specific provisions within budget and ensure adequate levels of provisioning on all accounts in accordance with the laid down credit policies.
  • Managing recovery costs within budgets.
  • Compliance with the bank’s Credit/NPL Policies and CBK Prudential Guidelines on loan classification and provisioning.
  • Timely submission of NPL returns to the Group Board and CBK.
  • Formulation of exposure/recovery strategies, action plans and supervising implementation for expedited closure.
  • Reduce non-performing credit through aggressive recoveries and viable restructuring thus contributing to the Group bottom line through provisions claw backs.
  • Participation in partnership engagement meetings/forums.
  • Oversight and support to subsidiaries in the management of the non-performing debts.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree from a University recognized by CUE. MBA degree will be an added advantage
  • Professional qualification in CPAK/ACCA/ ACIB / AKIB will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years of wide-ranging bank experience, having a minimum of 4 years’ Senior management level experience in Credit Administration, Credit Analysis, Debt Recovery and Lending related roles.
  • At least 4 years’ experience in Managing large teams.
  • Proven experience engaging with Banking Regulator, with demonstrated sound understanding of the regulatory environment including CBK Prudential Guidelines 
  • Demonstrable understanding of Business fundamentals and the financial services industry.
  • Must have awareness of current business trends, risks, challenges and opportunities
