Credit Control Manager

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Reporting to the Head of Finance, the incumbent shall be responsible for protecting the overall quality of the debtor asset and revenue capture.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Managing the credit risk exposure of all clients in line with approved credit terms and limits. Authority to Block/Stop customer accounts from accessing credit facilities.

• Ensuring effective management of Group debtors in coordination with the commercial department to ensure sufficient cash flow at all times for long-term and short-term obligations.

• Assigning debt portfolio to Credit Control Accountant and external debt collector for follow-up on debts all debts over 120 days.

• Overseeing the credit policy and processes all the while developing, improving, implementing, and championing the Group’s credit policy and processes.

• Responsible for vetting new clients by determining creditworthiness and subsequent approval of opening of clients’ accounts to access the credit facility.

• Setting targets and KPIs and conducting periodic performance appraisals for the credit control team.

• Building customer relationships, both internal and external.

• Evaluating new credit requests, including checking credit ratings, deciding whether to allow credit to a debtor and advising on credit limits.

• Negotiating re-payment plans.

• Providing debtors reports to top-level management for decision making. Includes but is not limited to aged debt analysis, provisions for bad debts, top debt accounts listing, etc.

PERSON SPECIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• University degree in accounting such as B. Com (Accounting) or equivalent.

• CPA (K), ICPAK, ACCA.

• Diploma in Credit Management.

• Minimum of 8 years experience in similar work in a commercial organization.

• Strategic planning and Goal setting to ensure the organization’s long-term sustainability.

• Full member of a relevant professional body.

• Must understand the Credit function planning requirements.

Manager, Studio Broadcast And Maintenance

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Reporting to the Head of Technical, the incumbent shall be responsible for planning and managing all broadcast maintenance activities including the design of new studios and broadcast systems, maintenance, and servicing of existing equipment to ensure continuous on-air transmission of high quality. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Providing leadership to the studio support team and leading the team in a manner that ensures a high degree of motivation, efficiency and discipline in all activities.

• Identifying the technical needs of the various broadcast areas in terms of personnel, equipment, technology, and advising the organization.

• Participate in the budgeting process of the department and advise on what new technologies the team needs to plan for.

• Ensuring efficient and professional maintenance of broadcasting equipment through scheduled service and identifying alternative ways of meeting requirements to cover for equipment failures with minimum loss of service.

• Understand and were needed support playback systems, tapeless media recorders, video switchers, sound mixers, microphones, studio and ENG/EFP cameras, monitors, studio lighting systems, and any other studio equipment.

• To monitor the quality of on-air programs and take prompt and appropriate action whenever an issue arises.

• Recommend and supervise studio installations in liaison with contractors ensuring minimum interruptions to studio operations.

• Monitoring administrative activities in the studios to ensure adequate control and cost-effective operations.

• Ensuring all the studio areas are in optimum working condition.

• Support the digital teams including ensuring that every signal source required at their disposal is availed.

• Represent the technical department in projects which may occur from time to time.

• Technically represent the organization in any external meetings that may be assigned.

 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Telecommunications.

• At least 6 – 8 years of experience in a comparable position in the media industry.

• Member of a relevant professional body.

SKILLS AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES

• Proper understanding of studio systems operations.

• Demonstrate a high degree of competence and capabilities in technical problem-solving in the broadcast space.

• Excellent communication skills both written and interpersonal.

• Hands on-experience in outside broadcast setup and support will be an added advantage.

• Knowledge of project and team management principles.

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills.
