Principal Legal Officer – 3 Positions

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: –

  • Organize, coordinate and manage administrative and legal functions of the Office;
  • Conduct all cases, including appeals or petitions on behalf of the County Government;
  • Advise the County Government on all matters relating to the Human Resource matters, Constitution, National Legislations, County Legislations, international law and human rights;
  • Liaison between the County Government and other Government agencies on legal matters;

Principal Physical Planning Officer

Duties and responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will entail: –

  • Initiating, preparing and monitoring the implementation of county and local physical development plans;
  • Preparing action plans for specific projects such as residential housing schemes, shopping centers, industrial estates and recreational facilities;
  • Providing advice to government and private agencies on development proposals and plans; implementing and providing feedback on physical planning guidelines and standards;

Senior Superintending Engineer (Civil/Structural)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • An officer at this level may be deployed as a head of a unit at Headquarters or as a Sub-County Works Officer or a County Structural Engineer. The duties and responsibilities at the Headquarters and County level will include work in the specialized fields of engineering in one of the following:
  • Building and Allied Structures
  • Duties will involve: design, detailing and site supervision of structures in various materials and forms of construction; liaison with Architects, and other Departments on project development; checking and monitoring projects designed by consulting engineers; and direct and control of engineers and Structural Assistants working in the specific project.
  • Civil Duties will involve: design, detailing, site supervision and maintenance of the sewerage drainage, roads and paved areas pertaining to public buildings and checking and monitoring projects designed by consultants.
  • Construction Duties will involve: supervision of structural, civil and marine works prepared by the Department and consulting
  • engineers; enforcement of specifications, compliance with engineers’ drawings, conditions of contract, quality control, approval and measurement of completed works, progress reports and guidance of County/Sub-County Structural Engineers on all technical aspects of the work.
  • Research
  • Duties will involve: supervision and control of applied research projects pertaining to structural materials,
  • foundations, structural elements, and constructional techniques, and building technology.

Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: –

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized Institution;
  • Registered with the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya (ERB);
  • Served in the grade of Superintending Engineer or comparable and relevant position for at least three (3) years;
  • Current valid annual Practicing license from the Engineers Registration Board of Kenya;

Duties and Responsibilities

Conservator of Forest I

Duties and responsibilities

  • Identify and rehabilitate degraded sites;
  • Establish plantations and implement silvicultural prescriptions;
  • Devise measures for forest protection and biodiversity conservation;
  • Take initiative for safe custody and control of stores and accountable documents;
  • Implement management initiatives and plans for revenue collection, utilization of infrastructure, plant and equipment;

Duties and responsibilities

  • Formulating, developing and implementing natural resource policies, legislation, strategies and action plans for natural resources management programs;

Director, Water and Sanitation

Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief Officer, The Director will be responsible for the following;

  • Developing, implementing and evaluating Strategic plans, workplans, program of activities and projects in collaboration with other Departments and Stakeholders.
  • Development and review of Water and Sanitation County Master Plansand identification of water and sanitation projects;
  • Initiate innovation, drawing on the latest research of new technologies for sustainable development and management of water;
