Lifeguard Job in Qatar

Job Description:

As a lifeguard, your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and well-being of patrons at aquatic facilities, such as swimming pools, beaches, or water parks. You will be tasked with preventing accidents, responding to emergencies, and enforcing facility rules to create a safe environment for all visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Surveillance: Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the assigned area to identify potential hazards, rule violations, or distressed swimmers.
  2. Prevention: Enforce facility rules and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of all patrons. Educate patrons on water safety practices and proper behavior in aquatic environments.
  3. Emergency Response: Respond quickly and effectively to any emergency situations, such as drowning incidents, injuries, or medical emergencies. Perform water rescues and administer first aid or CPR as needed.
  4. Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain lifeguard equipment, including rescue tubes, buoys, and first aid kits, to ensure they are in good working condition.
  5. Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with other lifeguards, facility staff, and management to coordinate emergency responses and share relevant information.
  6. Crowd Control: Manage crowd behavior and monitor the number of patrons in the water to prevent overcrowding and maintain a safe swimming environment.
  7. Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of incidents, rescues, and any other relevant information using incident reports or logbooks.
  8. Training: Participate in regular training sessions and drills to enhance lifesaving skills, emergency response techniques, and knowledge of facility protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Current lifeguard certification from a recognized training organization
  • Certification in CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid.
  • Strong swimming abilities and proficiency in lifesaving techniques, including rescue swimming and spinal injury management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform rescues and surveillance duties for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of aquatic safety principles, emergency procedures, and facility operations.

Working Conditions:

  • Lifeguards typically work in outdoor settings, exposed to sun, heat, and inclement weather conditions.
  • Irregular work hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, may be required.
  • May be required to stand or sit for long periods and perform physical tasks, such as swimming and lifting.
