Dental Technologists – 10 Positions

Job Requirement

Job Description

  • Receiving and recording patient work and interpreting patient prescription;
  • Disinfecting impressions, prostheses and appliances;
  • Assessing and casting impressions;
  • Implementing dental laboratory standard operating procedures;
  • Designing and fabricating acrylic complete/partial dentures, simple orthodontic appliances and repairs;
  • Participating in oral/dental health promotion; and
  • Collecting and compiling dental reports.

Nutrition and Dietetics Officer – 7 Positions

Job Requirement
For appointment to the grade of Nutrition & Dietetics Officer one must have:

  • Bachelor degree in food nutrition & dietetics or dietetics/clinical nutrition or food science & nutrition or home economics from a recognized institution
  • Registered with Kenya institute of nutrition and dietetics
  • Certificate in computer application

Job Description

  • Work at this level may normally involve being deployed in a sub-county hospital for provision of nutrition services in the community, maternal and child health care and hospital: wards and kitchens.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Planning, formulating and managing therapeutic diets in consultation with Senior Nutrition officer
  • Being resource person on nutrition in the health team;
  • Developing weaning foods with families using community resources;
  • Initiating projects in the community which promote nutrition; and
  • Supervising and guiding other staff working under the officer.

Plant Operator I – 20 Positions

Job Requirement
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:

  • Have a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education(KCSE) mean Grade ‘D’ Plain or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
  • Have passed the Suitability Test for Plant Operators Grade III;
  • Possess a valid driving license free from current endorsements for class(es) of machine(s) that one may be required to operate;
  • Be able to operate at least two (2) Plants of ‘difficult rating’ B;
  • Possess a valid certificate of Good Conduct Certificate from Kenya Police;
  • Have minimum relevant experience of three years in a busy environment
  • Attended a First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance or the Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized Institution; and
  • Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Job Description
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail;

  • Operating machines of ‘difficult rating’ B as authorized;
  • Assisting machine attendants in identifying possible breakdowns;
  • Liaising with mechanics for servicing;
  • Making daily and weekly oil checks; and
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the plants.
  • Properly maintaining work tickets;
  • Assisting in training junior plant operators

Plant Operator II – 60 Positions

  • Have a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean Grade ‘D’ Plain or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
  • Have passed the Suitability Test for Plant Operators;

Job Description

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail;

  • Driving a motor vehicle as authorized;
  • Carrying routine checks on vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems, tire pressure etc.;
  • Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of vehicle systems,
  • Maintenance of work tickets for vehicles assigned,
  • Ensuring security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road, safety of passengers and/or goods therein and
  • Maintaining vehicle cleanliness;
