Alumni Network Manager

Job Description

  • We seek a talented and experienced Alumni Network Manager to join our team. As the Alumni Network Manager, you will be responsible for engaging and building relationships with alumni of the Centre for African Leaders in Agriculture – CALA and fostering a sense of community among them. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to keep alumni engaged with CALA and each other, showcasing relevant and useful leadership tools and content, and promoting CALA’s values and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement alumni engagement strategies that foster a sense of community and keep alumni connected with CALA and each other
  • Manage and grow the alumni database, ensuring that alumni information is up-to-date and accurate
  • Plan, organize, and execute alumni events, both virtual and in-person, to engage and connect alumni with each other and CALA
  • Maintain the alumni online learning academy with up-to-date leadership and agri-specific content
  • Leverage the alumni online learning academy to create and sustain peer learning spaces and showcase practical content
  • Analyze alumni engagement data to measure the effectiveness of engagement strategies and identify areas for improvement
  • Provide ongoing user support to equip alumni to access and explore their online learning academy, and collaborative spaces therein
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, development, and admissions, to ensure consistent messaging and communication with alumni
  • Develop and manage alumni communications, including newsletters, social media posts, and other marketing materials
  • Build relationships with key alumni and volunteer leaders to increase alumni engagement and involvement in CALA
  • Manage the alumni association budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet alumni engagement goals
  • Report on the alumni program periodically according to the funder’s requirements and timelines

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • At least six years experience as an Alumni Network Manager or similar role
  • A good understanding of the African Food Systems space
  • Experience in event planning, alumni relations, or volunteer management
  • Experience in managing virtual pan-African alumni communities/programmes will be an advantage

Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager

Job Description

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager to join our team. The M&E Manager will be responsible for leading and managing all monitoring and evaluation activities for key strategic client reporting. The M&E Manager will work closely with the Senior Impact Manager and Program Managers to ensure effective implementation of monitoring and evaluation plans and provide recommendations for program improvements based on data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive monitoring and evaluation plans for key strategic clients, including data collection tools and methodologies, data quality assurance procedures, and analysis frameworks.
  • Gather and analyze data from multiple data sources, including Data Warehouse, ERP, project documentation, and other relevant sources to ensure data is accurate, timely, and relevant for decision-making purposes.
  • Provide technical assistance to program staff on M&E-related issues, including training and mentoring on data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Draft and review mandatory program monthly, quarterly, annual reports and ensure that reports are accurate, timely, and aligned with donor requirements.
  • Develop and maintain M&E systems and databases, including data entry and management procedures.
  • Supervise the M&E Officer and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Conduct regular monitoring visits to project sites to assess progress and identify challenges.
  • Develop and implement data visualization tools and dashboards to facilitate data-driven decision making.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including partners, and other organizations, to ensure effective coordination and collaboration on M&E-related issues.
  • Contribute to organizational learning by sharing M&E best practices, lessons learned, and success stories.

Requirements
Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, social sciences, international development, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least five years of experience in monitoring and evaluation of development programs, with demonstrated experience in data analysis and report writing.
  •  Experience in designing and implementing M&E plans for complex development programs, SME sector an added advantage.
  • Experience working with databases and data management systems.
