HANSARD REPORTER III – PSC 8

(a) Duties and Responsibilities (i) Ensuring timely and accurate transcription; (ii) Undertaking independent verbatim reporting of parliamentary proceedings and those of relevant committees/functions within or outside Parliament; (iii) Assisting in drafting duty schedules for Hansard Reporters; (iv) Preparing transcripts for editing; (v) Sorting, checking transcripts from junior officers and amending as necessary; (vi) Assisting in classification, custody, archiving, retrieval and cross-checking of documents against references.

(b) Requirements for Appointment For appointment to this grade, an officer must have (i) Bachelor’s degree in Fleet Management / Automotive Engineering/ Logistics and Transport or its equivalent; OR (ii) A Bachelor’s degree in any Social Science and a diploma in Fleet Management/ Automotive Engineering / Logistics and Transport or its equivalent; (iii) A valid driving license free from any current endorsements and valid for any of the classes of vehicles which the officer is required to drive; (iv) Defensive driving certificate from Automobile Association (AA) of Kenya or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; (v) Passed the Occupational Test I for Drivers; and, (vi) Show ability as reflected in work performance and results.

(a) Duties and Responsibilities An Inspector I (Electrical) will be in charge of electrical work in a large Team of Artisans and Inspectors and will be responsible for; (i) Installations, inspection, commissioning, testing and maintenance of electrical systems for diesel generating plants and machinery including low and medium voltage distribution services; (ii) Installation and maintenance of electrical controls in buildings; (iii) Repair and maintenance of electrical installation and controls related to catering equipment, lifts, boilers, cookers, water-heaters and general domestic appliances. (b) Requirements for Appointment For direct appointment to this grade candidate must have attained the Higher National Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Kenya National Examinations Council or its approved equivalent. They will be responsible for Planning / drawing of what is to be constructed, building / fabrication of what has been designed and fixing of what is damaged, broken, or not working properly. (b) Requirements for Appointment (i) A Diploma in Technical training from a recognized Institution; (ii) Served as Charge Hand PSC 6 or its equivalent for at least three (3) years; and (iii) Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
