a) Carrying out continuous internal audit to ensure compliance with approved management
policies, procedures and control systems
b) Carry out regular risk analysis and review
c) Carrying out special audit assignment and investigations
d) Planning and implementing annual audit programs
e) Reviewing and developing audit manual
f) Coordinating with the external auditors during the audits and follow-up
g) Liaising with other departments on implementation of internal control recommendations
h) Advising the Board on non-compliant operations and financial matters
i) Communicate the audit findings to the user department for response
j) Review the reliability and integrity of the financial reporting process and operating
information and the business process used to identify, measure, classify and report such
k) Review the adequacy of the system of internal controls, planned and in use, to safeguard the
Company’s assets and operations.
l) Review the effectiveness of management controls meant to ensure the economic and efficient
utilization of resources and achieve the Company’s corporate vision and objectives.
m) Review the adequacy, existence and degree of adherence to Company policies, procedures
and sound business practices.
n) Report the result of audit review and other activities in a manner that helps management
address the identified risk issues/ concerns and take appropriate action within a reasonable
period of time.
o) Appraise the adequacy of action taken by management in response to reported risk issues,
control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
p) Provide team leadership, mentoring, and coaching of staff within the department to enhance
service delivery.
• Bachelor of Commerce Degree preferably in accounting, finance option or its equivalent
from a recognized university.
• Certified public accountant of Kenya CPA (K) or certified chartered accountant (ACCA)
and professional certification as a certified information systems auditor (CISA) or
• Membership with the institute of certified public accountant of Kenya (ICPAK) in good
standing or Membership with information system Audit and control association (ISACA)
in good standing.
• Experience of not less than 7 years’ with a minimum of 3 year in Managerial position
• Have demonstrated professional competence in auditing and computerized accounting
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
• Good report writing and communication skills
• High level of independency.


a. Ensure proper maintenance of NRW equipment, machinery and other infrastructure
b. Supervise prompt reading and analyses of zonal and sub-zonal meters and compare
with the respective sustaining flows, identifying abnormal deviations for prompt
corrective actions.
c. Ensure that the handling and storing of equipment, is carried out as per approved
d. Supervise, appraise staff and identify their training and development needs
e. Determine the working tools and materials needed and ensure that they are readily
available in the right quality and quantity
f. Ensure regular patrolling of pipe line within the service area to detect water losses
e.g. bursts, leaks, illegal connections or stuck meters
g. Ensure monitoring of old disconnected accounts to check for water losses.
h. Coordinate installation of master, zonal and sub zonal meters at all abstraction and
key distribution points
i. Coordinate Installation and service of pressure reducing valves
j. To undertake minimum night flows to detect difficult underground water losses.
k. Coordinate Regular proactive leak detection within area of jurisdiction to minimize
water losses.
l. Coordinate and train on use of leak detection equipment to detect and analyses
suspected underground water leakage.
m. Schedule meter testing and calibration exercise and undertake replacements for all
the unserviceable meters.
n. Develop specifications for NRW machines, tools and equipment.
o. Work closely with other sections to develop sectional work plans.
p. Maintain records for all the operations and prepare the necessary reports
q. Participate in identifying sectional needs for budget formulation
r. Ensure meter calibration of all new meter purchased and on customer request.
s. Timely submission of reports and recommendations
t. Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
u. Provide team leadership, mentoring, coaching and managing performance of staff within
the department to enhance service delivery.

• Degree in water Engineering/ civil Engineering or relevant field from a recognized tertiary
institution with at least (5) years’ experience in a reputable organization, three (3) of which
should be in a Supervisory position.
• OR: A Diploma in Water Technology from a recognized tertiary institution with At least
Seven (7) years relevant experience in a reputable organization, five (5) of which should
be in a Supervisory position.
• Computer literate
• Experience in GIS will be an added advantage.

a) Timely response to customer enquiries and complaints as per the service charter
b) Escalate the reported complaints to the relevant users for action
c) Follow up and feedback on resolution of the escalated customer complaints
d) Maintaining accurate records and reports on customer complaints and enquiries
e) Undertake effective communication between customers, staff and other stakeholders
f) Promoting good customer relations
g) Participating in rapid result activities
h) Organize and attend marketing activities
i) Coordinating customer Barazas and clinics
j) Sensitizing public on the services being provided by the company
k) Participating in revenue collection
l) Report any upcoming buildings, irrigation and high consumers for investigation and
m) Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

• Diploma in Public Relations/social sciences/communications/Customer relations
management or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution
• A degree will be an added advantage
• 3 Years working experience in customer care in a busy environment
• Good communication skills
TERMS OF SERVICE: 3 Years renewable Contract subject to satisfactory performance
evidenced by continuous achievement of performance targets.
