HR & Operations Field Officer

Job Summary:

  • We are actively sourcing for an experienced HR & Operations Field Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR management within a factory or industrial setting. He or she will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations, supporting the HR function, and promoting a positive work culture.

Job Responsibilities:

HR Support in the Factory:

  • Work closely with department heads to identify workforce needs and develop effective staffing strategies.
  • Oversee onboarding procedures for new hires, including safety training and orientation to factory processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee attendance, leaves, and timesheets.
  • Compliance adherence: Ensure all staff adhere and comply to WTS policies and procedure and those from the client.
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring employee performance appraisal systems.
  • Coordinate employee training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Employee Relations in the Factory: Serve as a bridge between the plant management and the employees. Manages conflict resolution, ensure clear communication, and help to cultivate a positive work environment.
  • Compensation and Benefits: Oversee employees’ compensation and benefits. This includes developing competitive packages that attract and retain top talent while also maintaining the organization’s financial health.
  • Change Management: Often involved in managing organizational changes, including layoffs, Acquisition, or other structural changes. Ensure that these transitions occur smoothly, with minimal disruption to the organization’s operations.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: responsible for promoting diversity and inclusion within the factory, ensuring equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of race, gender, or age.
  • Strategic Planning: work alongside the plant manager to plan and execute operational activities strategies. Anticipate future staffing needs and develop plans to meet these requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between management and factory employees, addressing concerns and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Handle employee grievances and disciplinary matters in line with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Organize employee engagement initiatives and team-building activities within the factory.

Operations Support:

  • Collaborate with the operations team to streamline processes and optimize workflow efficiency.
  • Assist in inventory management and stock control, ensuring adequate supplies for the production process.
  • Support the implementation of quality control measures and adherence to production standards.
  • Monitor and report factory performance metrics to management, identifying areas for improvement.

Job Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Must have 3-5 years of relevant Experience in a similar role in a Factory/Plant:
  • Proven experience in HR management within a factory or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and safety standards relevant to factory operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and HRIS systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Security Officer

Job Summary: 

  • As a Security Officer, you will play a key role in executing the company’s security plan, procedures, and programs. You will be responsible for managing security staff, implementing mitigation measures, and coordinating incident response to ensure the safety of Eni Kenya BV’s operations in the country.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the preparation of security plans, procedures, and operating instructions.
  • Implement and monitor programs and procedures for Journey Management, coordinating drivers and Company vehicles.
  • Support in managing contracts and relevant administration processes.
  • Recommend upgrades and improvements for active & passive security measures for Company sites and oversee their implementation.
  • Monitor and coordinate security contractors regularly.
  • Liaise with local and national security authorities.
  • Collect information and data to assist in security reporting activities and risk assessments.
  • Ensure constant monitoring, communication, and updates between the Company head office in Nairobi and facilities/operations across the country.
  • Supervise security staff and guards and perform other appropriate duties as assigned.
  • Serve as staff support to security management and assist in conducting investigations.
  • Assist in emergency and contingency planning.
  • Act as a security representative on the field during crises, incident management, and emergency response if required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Security industry or Police/military background (at least 5 years).
  • Minimum Education: High School degree.
  • Fluent in English and Swahili (spoken and written).
  • Previous experience in the oil and gas industry (desirable).
  • Computer skills: excellent in Excel & Microsoft Office suite.
