Liabilities Sales Executive

Job Description:

The role will report to the Head of Liabilities of the Bank (in Kenya).

As a Liabilities Sales Executive , you will have responsibility for,

  • Identifying High Net Worth Individuals (HNI’s) and mobilising deposits from them, with a minimum deposit size of KES1 million.
  • Maintaining relationships with the depositors, ensuring a relationship of trust is built with the Bank and where possible deposits are rolled over on maturity.
  • Ensuring that the Bank’s KYC and AML standards are always met.
  • Ensuring that the cost of deposits to the Bank is optimised.
  • Maintaining leads and status thereof in the Banks CRM.
  • Continuous review of portfolio including – identifying opportunities to increase deposits from existing customers, having an early understanding of the likelihood of rollover at maturity, and managing concentration risk.
  • Working with appointed Introducers to close leads.
  • Providing timely inputs to the Assets and Liabilities Committee (ALCO).
  • Carrying out competitor analysis to ensure that we are optimising pricing at all times.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience of raising HNI deposits.
  • Have an extensive network of HNIs.
  • Understand the basis principles of banking.
  • Be able to talk confidently and professionally about the Bank, while creating a relationship of trust.
  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree.

Relationship Manager – Liabilities Mobilization

Job Description

The Relationship Manager- Deposit Mobilisation is a role reporting to the General Manager. This position is responsible for developing and implementing a business plan for identified target markets with identified volumes to drive high volumes of new deposits to the company. The main function of the role is to actively manage and take responsibility of the business development plan so as to improve the deposit mobilization and retention of deposit and also manage withdrawal attrition. The job holder will ensure that payment and treasury transactions are processed and settled in an accurate and timely manner and in compliance with all relevant regulation, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • To acquire and manage the portfolio of corporate deposit (sustain and grow a portfolio of corporate/executive clients by building long term relationships).
  • Manage the top 50 big corporate deposits in volume.
  • Identifying deposit/financing and transactional opportunities and investment/ deposit base.
  • Act as the primary link to the client for all Umba MFB Banking Solutions.
  • Maximizing risk-adjusted portfolio contribution.
  • Business development for both new and existing clients with a view to increasing “wallet share”

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Expanding the Company’s transactional and other product offerings(Deposits) to current and prospective customers through enhancements of product suitability;
  2. Own the primary relationship with the client by being the client’s main contact point for all corporate banking needs and the bank’s primary channel to the customer
  3. Establishing, leveraging and maintaining strategic relationships with clients and top 50 big corporate deposits in volume;
  4. Assume primary responsibility for understanding the client’s business at a strategic, tactical and operational level
  5. Understand the local market and the segments within which a customer operates/ develop local sector expertise and networks + build competitor knowledge
  6. Create and maintain robust account plans for the clients
  7. Develop relationships at a senior level for clients (loans/deposits above 1M) within the portfolio
  8. Attend client meetings and presentations where appropriate
  9. Target and develop new business with new customers
  10. Manage the deposit, sales and build relationships and networks with relationship managers within the Branch etc…
  11. Ensure a unified vision, goals and objectives to align business effort towards a common goal through visionary leadership
  12. Provide direction and guidance towards achieving of strategy, goals and objectives
  13. Identify new representation opportunities and thereby ensure a proper cost effective distribution channel across the Country
  14. Driving engagements and partnerships with stakeholders and segment heads;

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Banking & Finance, Marketing and any other related course
  • 7 years previous work experience in a similar role.

System Administrator

Job Description
System Support:

  • Ensure that the CBS is operating with maximum efficiency by daily monitoring of the servers, database and the Orbit-R application.
  • Ensure smooth integration of systems at all times
  • Ensure that normalcy is regained within the shortest time possible in case of a downtime
  • Assist the branch to run its end of day procedures and analyse errors arising from the process
  • Run and monitor daily data backup processes
  • Monitor the DR Servers and ensure log files are being copied and applied as expected
  • Perform root-cause analysis for recurring incidents, formalize test plans and implement troubleshooting procedures for the ERP system and other business applications
  • Manage the hardware, software, network and security for business critical servers with full backup and disaster recovery
  • Resolve user service requests lodged via the helpdesk
  • Manage user access management in various systems
  • Monitor server performance and management

Internal Process Automation:

  • Establish networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards

  • Manage partner integrations
  • Cost management – plan and control the allocated budget

Network Maintenance:

  • Design and enforce network systems policies and procedure
  • Ensure that the LAN is up and working in an efficient speed
  • Ensure all users’ work stations are having a healthy network connection
  • Ensure that the internet is up and efficient
  • Report incidents that are beyond the Daraja I.T Department to the ISP and following up to have downtimes restored with the shortest time possible 

Digital Channels Revenue Generation:

  • Recommend and motivate new services based on market trends, customer needs and the Company’s strategy
  • Drive adoption and growth of Alternative Business Channels at Daraja Bank by leveraging on existing technologies and adoption of new innovative ones in order to drive Non Funded Income as a major income generator for the Bank
  • Facilitate product development along the ABC module

Customer Perspective:

  • Ensure fast turnaround time on customer service delivery on all IT related platforms 
  • Act as custodian of service level agreements with suppliers

Reports:

Generate the following reports on daily basis:

  • System Uptime – Network, Core banking & Mobile Banking
  • Intrusion reports – Network
  • Replication DR-DC- Status 

Skills and Experience required for this Role

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Certification in core areas of networking, cabling and database management
  • Knowledge of managing Linux and Windows systems in a business environment
  • Experience in hosting environments involving multiple virtual hosts based on different virtualization technologies
  • Experienced in ERP software, Microsoft back office and office automation products
