Branch Manager

PURPOSE:

  • To generate revenue for the company, increase visibility and presence within the specified geographical area. To create strong stakeholders’ value through overseeing efficient utilization of available resources and ensure customer focus across the region.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate revenue in the branch across all subsidiary lines;
  • Provide leadership and support to the staff, sales and marketing team by driving the implementation of the corporate strategy, through training and motivation to achieve the organizational objectives;
  • Recruit, train and motivate intermediaries;
  • Organize and represent the company in all relevant forums e.g. cooperative societies AGMs, leaders meetings and seminars;
  • Conduct Business promotions in liaison with PR staff;
  • Open up new markets and distribution channels including local check offs for Ordinary Life;
  • Identify and facilitate Branch Human Resource requirements including recruitment, appraisal, career development and resource planning, in liaison with the HR department and Regional Manager;
  • Enforcing of credit control compliance;
  • Manage loss ratios in the branch within the set limits;
  • Make interventions in the branch to maintain the established customer service standards;
  • Consistently monitor and provide market intelligence and identify potential for both business acquisition and strategic planning;
  • Enforce prudent underwriting standards in the branch and facilitate claims documentation process and
  • Keep track on new relevant development in the branch and provide intelligent feedback to GM Distribution and Marketing.

Academic and Professional Requirements

Education   

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or in any related field  
  • Computer literate in MS Office and other office applications 
  • Diploma in AIIK/ACII

Assistant Manager – Provider Relationship

PURPOSE:

  • To oversee and coordinate management of all service providers for both legal and non-legal claims such as advocates, garages, assessors, investigators, loss adjusters amongst others.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Appointment of defence advocates and maintaining an up-to date record for such appointments. Currently, the role lies with the Legal Assistants and the main aim is to separate this role from the unit for accountability reasons and also ensure that the Legal team focusses purely on litigation functions.
  • Overseeing the sign off of contracts by all service providers in the panel as well as managing any complaints in relation to the services they provide.
  • Oversee reconciliations and sign off of the service provider’s accounts to ensure the payments due are up to date.
  • Negotiate and develop a strategic relationship with various providers and save on cost.


Academic and Professional Requirements

Education

  • Bachelors’ degree in Insurance, Business Administration or Economics or in related field.
  • Computer literate in MS Office and other office applications

Business Development Manager – Retail

PURPOSE:

  • Generate revenue from the Retail Medical Market by strategically shaping the market strategy and managing the sales activities for the retail market. The manager will lead experienced sales professionals in pursuit to drive growth, competitive advantage and achieve customer excellence.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive profitable business growth through strategic initiatives, partnerships/relationships within the assigned market and channels.
  • Recruit and develop a high performing diverse sales team that meets the business needs. And build capacity of intermediaries in the market.
  • Craft and sustain the retail value proposition.
  • Understand market trends and Customer requirements in order to a competitive market proposition in retail solutions.
  • Provide training, motivation, coaching and development needs to the sales force.
  • Work with the countrywide teams to develop pipelines that convert to business.
  • Monitor sales activities and provide reports with recommendations to optimize sales activities.
  • Ensure 100% compliance on statutory and regulatory requirements including proper contracting and licensing requirements of the sales force & intermediaries.
  • Conduct market activations and storms in strategic locations with respective sales teams through visits or other means;

Academic and Professional Requirements

Business Development Officer – Retail Business Medical

PURPOSE:

  • To facilitate all business development activities, achievement of set business targets, promote growth while building relationships with our clients and intermediaries.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement the business development plan.
  • Propagate and nurture excellent relations with insurance intermediaries and other distribution channels through constant contact in order to facilitate a steady inflow of business.
  • Facilitate timely preparation of new business quotations as requested by intermediaries and direct clients, and closely follow up to convert them into business.
  • Ensure reliable technical support to intermediaries and sales force through effective business presentations and business meetings.
  • Ensure continuous training of intermediaries on product knowledge.
  • Update your sales pipeline tool with activities undertaken for close monitoring and follow through to meet your set targets through a weekly report.
  • Grow your portfolio through targeted recruitment of intermediaries.
  • Gather information on market intelligence and feed-back on market dynamics and customer needs to facilitate continues review and enhancement of products.
  • 100% adherence to compliance on statutory and regulatory requirements through proper contracting and licensing requirements of the intermediaries and collection of premiums.
