Duties and responsibilities
The duties of the Senior Assistant Director, Finance shall include but not limited to:

  • Preparing periodic financial and related reports in assigned sections
  • Maintain proper books of accounts and records in the assigned section.
  • Responsible for supervision and assignment of duties to in staff assigned the section.
  • Ensure that the established internal controls are adhered to.
  • Coordinating assigned performance Contract indicators for the Section.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations and duties of the assigned section.
  • Any other related duty assigned from time to time

Deputy Director Finance (Expenditure), Grade 14, Central Administration

  • 9 years experience, 3 of which must be at the level of Senior Assistant Director Finance, Grade 13 or Senior Assistant Director, Internal Audit, Grade 13.
  • A member of a recognized Professional Accounting Body.
  • Have outstanding professional competence in financial management
  • Demonstrated high administrative capabilities.
  • Computer Literacy

Duties and responsibilities
The duties of the Deputy Director, Finance (Expenditure) shall include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the supervision and assignment of duties to staff of the Salary, Capital and expenditure sections
  • Responsible for cash flow management and cost control
  • Payroll processing and reconciliation
  • Responsible for asset management and maintenance of updated asset records
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements/obligations
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations in the office of Deputy Director, Finance, Expenditure
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned from time to time

Duties and responsibilities

The duties of the Deputy Director, Finance (Revenue) shall include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure timely receipting of all received revenue and that timely bank reconciliations are carried out.
  • Ensure that donor funds are managed in accordance with the respective memorandum of understanding (MOU), approved budget and University Financial Regulations
  • Ensure students are correctly billed, fees is collected and promptly receipted
  • Responsible for supervision and assignment of duties to staff in Income, Grants and Student Finance sections
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements/obligations
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations in the office of Deputy Director, Finance, Revenue
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned from time to time 

Deputy Director Finance (Budgetary Control and Financial Reporting) Grade 14

Duties and responsibilities
The duties of the Deputy Director Finance (Budgetary Control and Financial Reporting) shall include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing financial reports: annual reports and financial statements, quarterly reports and financial statements, monthly management reports and other adhoc financial reports.
  • Provide secretariat support services for the University Council Finance and Strategy Committee and University Budget Implementation Committee.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements/obligations
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations in the office of Deputy Director, Finance budgetary Control and financial reporting
  • Responsible for the supervision and assignment of duties to staff Budgetary and Financial reporting section
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned from time to time
