Enterprise Architect

The role:

The successful jobholder will be expected to:

  • Recommend and participate in the analysis, evaluation and development of enterprise long-term strategic and operating plans to ensure that the Enterprise Architecture objectives are consistent with the Banks’s long-term business objectives.
  • Gather business and technology requirements through discovery sessions then define, design and develop blueprint and roadmaps based on customer needs and continuously work other teams to streamline internal process to improve service delivery then deliver new and complex high-quality solutions to clients in response to varying business requirements.
  • Recommend and participate in activities related to the design, development and maintenance of the Enterprise Architecture.
  • Recommend and participate in the development of architecture blueprints and roadmaps for related systems.
  • Share best practices, lessons learned and constantly update the technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current and up-coming vendor products and solutions.
  • Collaborate with all relevant parties to review the objectives and constraints of each technology solution and determine conformance with the Enterprise Architecture. Recommends the most suitable technical architecture and defines the technology solution at a high level.
  • Ensure that the overall ICT architecture is maintained in a coherent manner and that appropriate considerations are made for its security and quality.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of leading-edge products and technology in conjunction with industry and business skills to influence functional strategy.
  • Utilize high level analytical ability and creativity to analyze complex/new situations, anticipate potential problems and future trends, assess opportunities, impacts and risks while developing and implementing plans and solution deliverables to customer problems.
  • Provides guidance to team members (Project managers, Architects, Sales Specialists, and other IT Specialists, among others) in areas of new and complex implementation and/or management tools and techniques.
  • Ensure architectural documentation relating to current implementations, prototyping, performance testing and providing growth and scalability plans for the system, provide
  • production support as well as design and deployment of advanced collaboration platforms within an Enterprise soft skill.
  • Ensure knowledge management, this will involve participating in, and/or being responsible for the creation, harvesting, protection, and reuse of Co-operative Bank’s intellectual capital. This will also include actively participating in knowledge sharing activities like communities of practice, forums, conferences and/or other knowledge exchanges.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an IT, engineering or related discipline.
  • Expert and broad knowledge across multiple technology Platforms, Processes, IT Architectures, and the banking industry digitization trends
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Technology infrastructure design and planning preferably in banking or financial services industry.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in development / architectural design of systems using key development tools and frameworks (java, .net, php, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, bootstrap, jQuery etc.).
  • TOGAF certification, ITIL certification, and knowledge of Artificial intelligence (AI) architecture will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with or leading enterprise services bus (ESB) a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Microservices architecture (MSA), containerization integration, DevOps, and Agile environments.
  • Strong background in understanding organizational technology resources, priorities, needs and policies, and use of the same in developing IT strategies, technology roadmaps, and custom solutions.

Information Systems Auditor

The Role

Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:

  • Utilize extensive understanding of business activities to recommend scope and objectives of assigned audits, execute audit procedures, perform detailed analyses, reach sound conclusions, and document results for assigned audit activities.
  • Participate in the execution of multiple audit projects to achieve the scope, timing, and objectives of each assignment while ensuring applicable regulatory guidance is included in the scope for assigned audits where applicable.
  • Proactively identify risks, evaluate controls and make recommendations to improve internal control, operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Analyze and verify transactions and representations as well as performing review of test work completed by assigned staff.
  • Prepare excellent work paper documentation ensuring quality of such documentation in accordance with professional standards, as well as establishing departmental standards and deadlines.
  • Recommend departmental improvements to automate procedures, methods, and standards to improve departmental efficiency, productivity and quality.
  • Prepare clear and concise recommendations for correction of unsatisfactory conditions, improvements in operations, reductions in cost and effectively gain concurrence and support for recommended control improvements.
  • Facilitate the communication of audit results and special projects via written reports and oral presentations to management.
  • Assist in the annual risk assessment process and generation of annual audit plan.
  • Identify and analyze level of threat and potential risk to the organization’s information assets
  • Ensure that access to electronically stored corporate information is adequately protected and managed appropriate to the risks
  • Test adequacy and effectiveness of control measures on information systems, operational processes, credit, department operations and recommend corrective measures to be undertaken in areas of weakness.
  • Perform special audits as and when called upon and make maximum use of Computer Assisted Audit tools e.g. Teammate, ACL, SQL Developer etc.
  • Assist in training/mentoring of staff and develop and maintain the skills, knowledge and expertise to make valuable contributions to the internal audit team.
  • Perform independent threat and vulnerability assessment tests and report on cyber risks and controls of the ICT systems within the bank and other related third-party connections.
  • Conduct comprehensive penetration tests on the bank’s web-based applications, mobile applications, networks, and ICT systems to assess the effectiveness of the cyber security framework implemented by the bank.

Skills, Competencies and Experience

The successful candidate will be required to have the following skills and competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or Computer Science from a recognized university. Possession of an MSc or other relevant postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Professional certification in IT Audit, Risk and Security e.g. CISM, CISSP, CISA, CRISC
  • Excellent understanding of auditing concepts and practices with a minimum of 3 years experience in a management role in IT and operations or IT and operation audit.
  • Skilled in project management and maintaining composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrable knowledge in risk assessment and control concepts/methodologies.
  • Skilled in negotiation and conflict management to resolve problems that may arise during an audit.

Corporate Credit Analyst

The role

The successful jobholder will be expected to:

  • Analysis of credit proposals from business units and make a decision on the same day.
  • Recommend appropriate credit decisions to Credit approvers for final decision.
  • Escalate unusual issues or issues raising concern to the Head – Corporate Credit Risk Analysis Department.
  • Keep up-to-date records of all cases received, analyzed and decisions by prompt update of tracker.
  • Advise the Credit Administration Department/ business unit of decisions same day.
  • Keep abreast with economic, industry and business trends to facilitate quality analysis of credit applications.
  • Document issues identified as causes of weak appraisals from business units – both policy and procedure.
  • Train business units credit staff on credit analysis procedures

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

The successful jobholder will be required to possess the following qualifications: –

  • A university degree in a Business-Related field from a recognized university with at least 5 years of banking experience in a credit-related function.

Network Engineer

The Role

Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:

  • Manage performance of ICT Infrastructure and applications to ensure that the systems work as designed and perform consistently and reliably in order to meet Business SLAs. 
  • Monitor ICT Infrastructure performance including SNMP, logs, events and maintenance of general systems health in order to provide proactive remedial support.
  • Develop and maintain device access, control policies, data transmission policies, storage policies, Business continuity policies, backup policies, security policies, monitoring profiles, technologies and notification rules that match compliance best practice expectations.
  •  Plan and implement timely product upgrades, firewall signature updates and patch releases for all ICT assets
  • Research and evaluate external technical trends & developments and evolving industry standards concerning technologies affecting networks, security, client/server and other platforms and their application to business systems. Research local and international technology trends in business to improve system performance, security and functionality.
  • Define and document the various architecture components, including hardware platform, operating system, execution, development, operation, distribution and technologies related to networking systems.
  • Install, support and maintain hardware and software infrastructure, attend to system failures and resolve/coordinate resolution of issues.
  • Establish and maintain business relationships with vendors, consultants and other outside entities providing services to the bank. Negotiate contracts and appropriately monitor performance of their services.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Wide Networking and project management experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in planning, systems analysis, design, support and development of LAN/WAN infrastructure.

Data Quality Analyst

The Role 

Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:

  • Drive the strategic direction through objective, systematic analyses to derive accurate conclusions based on evidence, contributing to informed decision-making.
